Becoming Your Own Best Teacher

This is a follow-up post to “Implementing a Learner’s Mindset.” Embedded below is a free resource that I created discussing the value of assessment as learning, and how I intend to introduce the strategy to my learners who are operations managers at a unionized distribution centre.

The resources below combined with my blog post about implementing a strategy of feedforward were developed for Feedback Strategies PIDP 3351. The posts scaffold the concepts of mindset shift and developing self-directed learner’s habits to prepare students to be life long learners. I work in industry not in an academic institution so I reframed the assignments to be relevant to my environment.

My organization is at a turning point. We’ve traditionally operated within a structured, process-driven environment, But as we move toward becoming a learning organization—one that embraces continuous improvement(CI)—we recognize that our ability to pivot quickly will be critical to long-term success. Combining a shift in mindset, engaging in self-evaluation, reflection, and goal setting our team will be prepared for this transition.
