Professional Journey
My professional background began in customer service and hospitality working as a trainer at the Parksville McDonald’s on Vancouver Island. From there I went to college and received my Travel and Tourism Diploma and joined Transat Holidays in their vacation & tours department.
After nine years in the travel industry I had the opportunity to reinvent myself and completed the Business Operations Management Diploma program at BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) and continued part time recieving my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Fresh out of BCIT I joined Amazon deploying the Learning department and ambassador training program at the first two Distribution Centres in Western Canada. I have instructed adult learners to use powered equipment, how to correctly don a safety harness, new employee onboarding, and facilitated the train the trainer course at Amazon.
Transitioning to the public sector in 2017, I am currently a Learning Services Coordinator for the BC Liquor Distribution Branch providing logistical, and material support required to train 5000+ team members across three lines of business distributed throughout British Columbia.
Road Ahead
I am ready to take the next step in my career, moving into curriculum development, instructional design, and media-based learning, which is why I cretaed The Power of Knowledge. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
