This speaks to me, Higher level thinking.
When I was in high school, I received A’s and B’s. In college I completed a travel and tourism management diploma, a subject that I was very enthusiastic about. It was a geography class recalling facts and must-see locations all around the world I got straight A’s. Both high school in the 90’s and Travel and Tourism College did not require higher level thinking like analyzing or evaluating from Bloom’s revised taxonomy. I thought I was an intelligent person. What I am realizing is that I am not as intelligent as I thought I was. Let us watch this YouTube video that helped me come to terms with this:
I like Jusitin’s strategy of using ChatGPT to catapult past the basic levels of thinking so I can focus more on analyzing and evaluating ideas and the relationships between them.
I subscribed to Justin’s YouTube channel after watching his video, and I am not one of those people that join follow or subscribe to any one that gives a comment I made a thumbs up or like.
I honestly do not recall thinking at this level before on my own. At least not to the point where I could have failed a course. I appreciate the value of using AI as a tool to reduce the time that collecting facts and ideas takes because as I get older, in my forties now, time seems to move faster. A year used to feel so long, but time is finite. I better use my time well. If you need to find me, I will be increasing my cognitive load and pushing myself to get to the desirable difficulty that works out the mind.
